Our individual and collective psyches are being
called to undergo a transformational process that embraces a
movement toward "integrated living" that assumes an
expanded view of health. This 21st century perspective not only
considers one's physical, emotional, and mental well-being,
but also allows for our spiritual and soulful natures to be
cultivated and supported along with our psychological needs
and processes. We are in the midst of a paradigm shift where
a greater number of us are becoming increasingly aware of the
ever emerging realities of the seen and unseen world. Understanding "subtle
energy" and electromagnetism
as they apply to our brains and central nervous systems, offer
us a profound shift from a Mechanistic philosophy to a Vitalistic
worldview. Recognizing and thereby working with our body's innate
intelligence, combined with emotional literacy, creates a foundation
for accessing a vast intuitive network within ourselves as well
as in our relationships with others. Such
a progressive model, when incorporated in treatment for addictive/compulsive
behaviors and their respective underlying traumas, creates the
possibility for an unprecedented holism to be encountered in
the advent of healing. In addition, when this framework of multidimensionality
is applied to schematic profiles for individual psychotherapy
and couple facilitation, space is generated for a transformational
event allowing for accelerated integration. |
